Award-Winning Magician
Three of the most prestigious awards in British magic.
I'm Nick Rushton - winner of The Magic Circle's Young Magician of the Year, The World Magic Awards 'Best Young Performer', and the IBM British Junior Magical Champion. These awards reflect performance achievement, professional recognition and years of serious work in magic.
Why Booking an Award-Winning Magician Matters
There are thousands of magicians advertising online. Many are part-time hobbyists with polished websites and stock photography. Awards cut through the noise — they tell you a magician has been assessed by other professional magicians and judged to perform at the highest standard.
These aren't online popularity votes. They reflect a mixture of peer-judged competition wins and selection for recognised magic television awards. Winning one is a career-defining achievement. Winning three is genuinely rare.
For your event, that translates to reliable quality — the difference between magic that amazes your guests and magic that falls flat. It's the same reason you'd hire a Michelin-rated chef over an unknown: the stamp of expert recognition guarantees a standard.

About Each Award
The Magic Circle (London) - Young Magician of the Year
The Magic Circle describes itself as the world's most famous magic society. It was founded in London in 1905 to promote and advance the art of magic. Its official Young Magician of the Year roll of honour lists Nick Rushton as the 1997 winner.
The award was presented to me by David Berglas, one of Britain's most important magicians and a past president of The Magic Circle. Winning it was a turning point in my career and helped lead to TV appearances, international bookings and high-profile private events. Read more about being a Magic Circle magician for hire.
The World Magic Awards - Best Young Performer
The World Magic Awards was an internationally televised magic awards show. I was selected to appear because of my achievements in other magic competitions, rather than through a live competition format on the show itself. I received the Best Young Performer award in both 1999 and 2000.
The 2000 World Magic Awards featured an extraordinary line-up of magic's biggest names, including Penn & Teller, Franz Harary, Max Maven and David Williamson. Being featured in that context helps explain the significance of the award without misrepresenting it as a live competition.
International Brotherhood of Magicians — British Junior Magical Champion
The IBM is the largest magical society in the world, with over 10,000 members globally. The British Junior Magical Champion title is awarded after a series of performance rounds, with judging focused on showmanship, originality and audience impact. This was one of my early major competition wins — and helped confirm I wanted to pursue magic as a full-time career.

What Clients Say
500+ five-star reviews from happy clients over 30 years.
Nick is quite simply the best close-up magician we have ever booked. His Magic Circle pedigree shows — the standard is exceptional.
We booked Nick specifically because of his awards and TV credits. He didn't disappoint — our guests were absolutely spellbound.
Award-winning is an understatement. The reactions Nick got from our guests were unlike anything we've seen before.
Award-Winning Magician FAQs
What awards has Nick Rushton won?
I've won three major awards from respected magic organisations and events: The Magic Circle's Young Magician of the Year (London), The World Magic Awards 'Best Young Performer', and the International Brotherhood of Magicians 'British Junior Magical Champion'. These were based on performance achievement and professional recognition - not online popularity contests.
What is The Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year?
The Young Magician of the Year is one of the most important competitions in UK magic. Entrants perform in front of a panel of senior Magic Circle members who judge on technical skill, originality, entertainment value and presentation. Previous winners include many of the UK's best-known professional magicians.
Does being award-winning matter when booking a magician?
