Magician As Seen On TV

BBC One · Channel 5 · Sky — book a magician with real TV credentials.

I'm Nick Rushton — I've appeared on BBC One, Channel 5 and Sky, and I perform close-up magic at over 100 events a year across the UK. TV experience means camera-ready reliability, rock-solid technique and the ability to perform under pressure. Exactly the qualities you want at your event.

Seen On

I've appeared on three of the UK's biggest broadcasters — each one a quality guarantee in itself.

Channel 5

Appearance on a Channel 5 magic and mentalism programme — reaching audiences who specifically seek out magic content.

Sky

Feature on Sky, including close-up magic and behind-the-scenes segments about how magic works.

Why TV Credentials Matter At Your Event

TV producers are ruthless about quality. When a trick fails on camera, it's recorded forever — there's no "glossing over it" like you might do at a live event. So producers only work with magicians they're absolutely sure about.

For you, that's a useful shortcut. A magician who has been trusted by BBC, Channel 5 or Sky has already passed a quality test you'd otherwise have to run yourself — watching unedited video, checking references, assessing technical skill.

TV experience also translates practically to live events in a few specific ways:

  • Reliability under pressure — if you can perform on live TV without fumbling, a room full of wedding guests holds no fear.
  • Close-up scrutiny — TV cameras get closer than any audience. The sleight of hand has to be bulletproof.
  • Crowd work — TV magic often involves interacting with real audience members in unscripted moments. Good TV magicians are also excellent improvisers.
  • Production experience — familiarity with working around tight schedules, multiple cameras, last-minute changes — useful at any event with timings and logistics.

TV Magician FAQs

What TV shows have you appeared on?

I've appeared on BBC One, Channel 5 and Sky. Features have included close-up magic performances, mentalism demonstrations and interviews about the history of magic. Producers come to me when they need reliable, camera-ready performance with genuine technical skill.

Does TV experience matter when booking a magician for an event?

It matters more than people realise. TV demands reliability under pressure — you can't afford a trick to go wrong on camera, so producers only work with magicians who have rock-solid technique. These are the same qualities that matter at your event: reliable execution, no awkward moments, and the confidence that comes from having performed under scrutiny.

Are you still performing live events or just TV?

Live events are my main focus — TV is occasional. I perform at over 100 live events a year including weddings, corporate events and private parties. Live is where magic really comes alive.

Will you mention your TV appearances at my event?

Only if you want me to. Some clients like to introduce me as 'as seen on BBC and Sky' to impress their guests — others prefer a low-key approach. I'll follow your lead. The quality of the magic speaks for itself either way.

Can I see videos of your TV appearances?

TV footage is owned by the broadcasters, so I don't have clips of it online. But my videos page has unedited footage from real live events plus my Young Magician of the Year competition performance — a much more useful preview of the quality you'd get at your event.

How do I book a TV magician for my event?

Just get in touch with your date, venue and approximate guest numbers. I'll send a tailored quote within 24 hours. Typical fees are £500–£1,500 depending on event type and duration.
